Okay, so here are the main cast of characters for my soon-to-be-a-comic-book "Man-Gull". The main purpose of this post is to supply reference for those who would like to draw a pin-up for the first issue of Man-Gull. Below are some notes about the characters to give you a bit of a feel for who they are and what parts they play in the story.

TOP ROW (left to right):

Nick - Main character. Detective. Early 30's. Dark hair. Carries a small revolver in an ankle holster.

Deborah - Distraught girlfriend of the poor sap whose arms were ripped off by Man-Gull. Mid/late 20's. Blonde.

Moriarty (aka "Mo") - Police officer. Friend of Nick's. Graying light brown hair w/ very receded hairline. Mid/late 40's.

Julie - Doctor. Has a past with Nick. Early 30's.

Dr. Tilling - Doctor overseeing Man-Gull's armless victim. Bit of a dick. Graying black hair. Late 30's/early 40's.

BOTTOM ROW:

This is Man-Gull. He is a seagull who has ripped the arms off of Deborah's boyfriend James (not pictured). Man-Gull's legs are submerged entirely within the stumps of James' arms, which were torn off just below the shoulders. The arms should be fit, but not overly muscular, caucasian, and have no defining marks such as tattoos or moles. The amount of blood on/around the stumps isn't a detail that's set in stone, though the stumps themselves should appear frayed.

Using his arms, Man-Gull can hold/operate pretty much any device or object that a normal human can. He uses weapons and other objects just as a human would, though his face shows essentially no emotion. Man-Gull is intelligent, but has no real personality. He is not super strong. He can comfortably carry most types of firearms, but presumably can't lift more than 75-100 pounds. He is intelligent, but not super intelligent, and cannot speak.

Taking into account the size of the average real-life seagull, I generally portray Man-Gull a bit larger than you might expect him to be. The images provided above give a decent representation of his size compared to a human/human limbs.

Other notes of possible interest: The story takes place in and around a fictional, rural, coastal town in the Eastern United States called Pleasant Point. Noteworthy locations in the first issue are an average-sized lake with a small dock surrounded by a forest, a small-town hospital, and a small-town police station.
