This is the 20th page of the first issue of Old Bones, the book that I'm working on with writer/colorist Andrew Elder. I haven't posted many pages from this project on deviantArt so as not to ruin the story for anyone, but occasionally I like to toss up a page that is so confusing that it won't give much away. I will, however, tell you that the man falling through the vines does not have two heads (one being a dog and one a human), but in actuality has placed his small dog inside his coat for safe-keeping. The entire thing was inked with a size 02 Crow Quill and Dr. Ph Martens Black Star ink except for the shadows on the clouds and ground, which I cheated and used a brush pen for. This represents the most difficult page of the book to draw/ink thus far. It took me somewhere in the ballpark of three nights to ink. You'll understand why if you take a look at the pencils here: [link]
Extra credit if you can name the three words/messages/icons that I've hidden in the symbols adorning the pillars.
